Bettors in Bangladesh typically come across three types of odds formats. Below is a simple explanation and example of each.
Decimal odds
The most common format. The number shows how much you get back in total for every ৳1 staked (including your stake). The higher the number, the greater the risk and the reward.
Fractional odds
The British method — 2/1 means ৳2 profit for every ৳1 staked. The stake is returned separately. Most commonly seen in UK horse racing and football.
American Odds
A plus (+) sign shows how much profit you make on a ৳100 bet; a minus (-) sign shows how much you need to bet to win ৳100. Mostly used in American sports.

Decimal 3.00 = Fractional 2/1 = American +200. If you win, total return is ৳600 (৳400 profit + ৳200 stake); if you lose, ৳200 is gone.
Decimal 1.80 = Fractional 4/5 = American -125 (American minus odds show how much you need to bet to win ৳100). A ৳200 bet returns ৳360 if you win (৳160 profit).
